New Brag Tags

I have posted a new set of Brag Tags in my TPT store. There are several more to come. I will leave these free until tomorrow and then I will put a price on them.

This set features brag tags for when students lose a tooth, to celebrate the 100th day, to recognize students for not having late homework, and to recognize students for bright thinking.

I hope you enjoy these! Please be sure to leave feedback if you download these!

Another Snow Day! Whole Brain Teaching 13 Week Challenge!

I am in the middle of my third snow day this week after being off since December 20th. I am ready to get back to teaching with my kiddos.

All this time has helped me to stick to my resolution of blogging, making more products for TPT, and researching Whole Brain Teaching.

I have been researching all break and am so excited to try again with WBT. I tried it at the beginning of the year, but had a hard time sticking with it because I was trying to focus on all of the components. I have discovered the 13 Week Master Class that was started back in September. The purpose of it was to focus on just one component at a time and to slowly build up to reaching Teacher Heaven. I am going to start with week one as soon as I get back to school. If you are unfamiliar with Whole Brain Teaching you should definitely check it out and if you are interested in starting I would recommend doing the 13 Week Master Class.

Week 1's focus is Attention Getters. Here is the video: Attention Getters.
I am going to try to at least master the Rookie level, which means I have a goal of using a variation of Class, Yes! to get the students' attention at least 20 times a day.

Class, Yes! is used to start lessons, reduce the hubbub of the classroom, for crowd control, before entering/leaving class, or to interrupt an activity. It works by you saying a variation of Class and students responding with the same variation of Yes and immediately look at you with their hands folded. If they don't remember to fold their hands you remind them and practice, practice, practice until it becomes natural. Students have fun doing this which helps to get the part of the brain involved with emotions going. The goal of Whole Brain Teaching is to have the Whole Brain activated in order to get the best learning.

This is one feature I use a lot still, but I do not feel like I use it as much as I should. I will start tracking how many times I use it so that I am holding myself accountable.

Some variations I use are:
~Class, class
~Classity, class
~Class-a-doodle-doo
~Oh Class
~Class
~(whisper) Class
~(squeaky) Class
~(deep voice) Class
~Class (clap)
~Class Oh Class

I am still looking for some more ideas. Feel free to share your own versions with me.

If I master the Rookie level before the week is over I will move on to the Pro level. The Pro level is to you use Class, Boom! variations at least 10 times per day. This is the same as Class, Yes!, but there is a boom added at the end.

Some variations are:
~Class, Boom
~Class-a-Boom
~Class-Chicka-Boom
~Class-Boom-Sha-Boom
~Class-Ba-Ba-Boom

The final level is the All Star level. In this level you ask a question that students need a lot of practice with (for third grade an example would be multiplication facts) then say boom. Students respond with the answer and boom. In the All Star level you should be using all three types equally at least 20 times a day.

The main thing with Attention Getters is to rehearse often! This is a major key factor in success. I will keep you all posted on how my progress is going. I will also update weekly on the focus of the week based on the 13 Week Master Class.

On another note, I have posted another set of brag tags to my TPT store:
These are brag tags that can be given out each month for perfect attendance for the month. I have more brag tags to come over the next few months.
These are at my introductory price of free for a limited time. Grab them before they have a price, but remember to leave some feedback.

Finally a Productive Snow Day!!

I have been on break since December 20th. We were supposed to go back Monday for a teacher day and Tuesday the kiddos were supposed to come back, but we got hit with snow and bitter cold temperatures. Only about five or six teachers were able to make it in for our teacher day so we were told we could just work in our rooms. I stayed until lunch and got quite a bit done. Then Tuesday was a snow day and I had absolutely no motivation to get anything done...until about 10 PM last night. Good thing today was also a snow day because I worked on some ideas until almost midnight and then I got up this morning and continued working. I was on a roll.

I have posted four new products to my TPT store (these are the first items I have posted since before Halloween...it feels so great to be posting some new items). Since I haven't really made anything else lately I am linking up this post with Tara's Monday Made It over at 4th Grade Frolics; after checking out my products you should head on over to her blog and see what everyone else has been making this month.

Oh and one more thing, all four of my new products are free for a limited time. Head on over to grab them up before they have a price. Please, please, please leave some feedback if you take advantage of this opportunity.

First up,
These are perfect for your Valentine's Day items; there are 72 different versions!

Next up,
Another perfect item to add to your Valentine's Day items.
These five little guys were the perfect addition to my next new item:

There are 15 different versions of these Valentine's Day cards.
They will be perfect to hand out to my students on Valentine's Day with a little goody of some sort.

And finally,
I have really gotten in to making brag tags lately. I have many more to come over time. This is my first posted set. They are perfect to give students on their birthday.

Now head on over and snatch these up and don't forget to leave feedback! After that, head on over to 4th Grade Frolics for some more Monday Made Its!

Five for Fraturday!

I didn't get this posted yesterday because I was busy with a snow day and awaiting the arrival of that new great niece I've been so excited about!

Here is my Five for Friday (or Saturday):

After this head on over to Doodle Bugs Teaching to check out the other posts!

Here is the precious little girl who made her arrival bright and early this morning! 4:41 am to be exact; weighing in at 8 lbs 15 oz and 22 inches long! I love her to death already! This great aunt is super proud of her and her mommy (daddy too!)

We enjoyed our three days of RACKing this week. My students have loved doing these great random acts. Every morning they come in asking what our next one is. I only have pictures of the first two (Thursday was a little crazy with the winter weather hitting us and causing us to go home early)
This is our line of acts

Day 1- Be super sneaky! Leave a kind note for a friend without them knowing it is from you!

Day 2- Make a Christmas card for a teacher you have had in the past!

Day 3- Write a thank you note to someone who has helped you!

Johnathon Jr. Acklebottom the 15th decided that he wasn't going to be on strike anymore. He has been super sneaky though in hopes that the students wouldn't know where he was spying from.
He spent all day here on top of the board without being found (until 5 minutes left until bus riders leave). The next day he hid in a hole in the ceiling and hid in the candy basket (I don't have pictures of this either because of the crazy day Thursday).

My students got their assignment Disguise a Snowman and are absolutely loving it! A few snowmen have already come back.
If you want to do it with your students head over to TeachersPayTeachers to get your copy from

As I said earlier I enjoyed my first snow day on Friday and from the looks of it we may have another one Monday! We will see!

Where Has the Time Gone???

Oh my! It has been a whirlwind lately! I have neglected my little bloggy world and I am very sorry about that! I am going to try to be a little more consistent about posting on here, but we will see how that works out.

We had a Teacher Institute on Friday and the morning session was not very beneficial so I think this picture should be true. I did spend a good amount of time on Pinterest during the morning session! I learned so much more from Pinterest! ;)

I have some new Teachers Pay Teachers products that I have uploaded recently and I have some more that will be getting uploaded in the coming weeks.

Speaking of TPT, have you heard their big news? They reached over 100,000 fans on Facebook! That is awesome! And the best news is that they are celebrating by giving you 10% off purchases at TPT now through midnight Hawaii time on 10/14. All you have to do is use the code FB100K.

On top of that I am throwing a big 20% off sale which means you get 28% off any of my items! That's a deal you don't get often! Go snatch it up before it's gone!

Here are my new products!

First Up:
My students loved doing this project! I will have to remember to take pictures of my bulletin board to share with you all. It turned out super cute!

Next Up:
This one is currently free! It will remain free for a limited time so grab it while you can! Please please please remember to leave feedback!

And Finally:
Another freebie that may not be free for long! I love to see feedback on the freebies!

September Monday Made It

It has been busy around here lately so I haven't had much time to be creative and make things, but I do have a couple things to share. I am linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It. I only have two things today.

#1:
Last month I participated in the SLANT box exchange (I will be participating again this month...yay). I was paired up with Tara from Teaching With TWitte. I sent her a package with a pink and green theme. One rule for the exchange is that there must be one item that is handmade. I found out that Tara liked owls and pink and green. I combined those things to make her a door hanging/wall hanging. The picture of it is courtesy of Tara (I forgot to take a pic before sending it off...like I said it has been crazy around here).

#2:
I finally got around to creating another set of clipart. I needed this set for a fall project that I plan on doing with my class. This project will also turn in to another Teachers Pay Teachers product that should be ready to be posted sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Tonight I posted this set of Pumpkin Clip Art to my TPT store. It is FREE for a limited time. Be sure to leave me some feedback if you take advantage of this free offer.

Wow have I been crazy busy! I met my kiddos yesterday and already can tell it will be a long, exhausting year! I am going to make the most of it though! I started Whole Brain Teaching and am hopeful that as they get the hang of it, it will help alleviate some of the issues. *fingers crossed*

Let's Celebrate Back to School

What a great first day back it was, though it was only for teachers! It was so great to be back at work! By the end of the day I had a massive headache though so I didn't take the time to take pictures of my classroom. I guess those will have to wait until tomorrow.

Even though I have the headache I did decide I would still post my new clipart for you and continue my Back to School Freebies one more day! Once again, please remember to leave feedback!

Monday Made It (Last one for August)!

I am linking up once again with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for her last weekly Monday Made It of the summer.

#1:
Robot Pointer Holder
I took an old container that used to hold my birthday straws and covered it with robot scrapbook paper and mod podge. I then added a portion of a feather boa for a little extra cuteness. I love how it turned out.

#2:
My rocking chair makeover.
This rocking chair used to be orange and it had scuff marks all over it.
I decided it needed an update so I painted it purple!
I love it so much more now!

#3:
Boxes for supplies.
I created some boxes to hold the supplies that will be collected and kept in my storage room.
I wrapped three cardboard boxes with wrapping paper and added label signs to the front indicating what should go in the box (currently they are holding the gifts for students.

#4:
These are the gift bags I made for my new kiddos.
Each bag contains glow sticks, robot stickers, bookmark, pencil, flipflop erasers, pencil cap erasers, and a stencil.

#5:
Tags for apples for the parents. I am waiting a couple more days before buying the apples.
The sticker labels will be stuck on the apple and the apple cards will be attached to the stem with tulle.
If you like these check out my blog tomorrow because they will be featured as my freebie for the day.

Speaking for daily freebies; go check mine out and remember to leave feedback. Thanks!

Today's new product is my final version of the stars backgrounds:
